ClearParcel started with a simple idea: land decisions should be clear, fast, and easy to understand. In Southeast Minnesota, people make property choices every day — buying land, preparing listings, planning projects, or weighing investments. But getting reliable parcel information often takes too long, and waiting slows everything down.

People
Shawn R. Gertken is the founder of ClearParcel, a Southeast Minnesota service dedicated to delivering parcel intelligence with speed, clarity, and reliability. ClearParcel reflects Shawn’s long-standing commitment to providing accurate land information to the people who depend on it most: real estate professionals, landowners, and investors.
Before establishing ClearParcel, Shawn served Wabasha County for more than two decades in a land‑records and GIS capacity. His work included maintaining the county’s parcel fabric, managing NG911 datasets, and ensuring the accuracy of public‑facing land information systems. Through this role, Shawn developed a deep understanding of how parcel data is created, governed, and used across local government, public safety, and the real estate community.
His experience in Wabasha County shaped the foundation of ClearParcel. Shawn saw firsthand how often property decisions were delayed simply because essential parcel information was difficult to access or required specialized knowledge to interpret. ClearParcel was created to address that need directly by providing parcel intelligence delivered within 24 hours, ensuring clients receive timely, dependable insights without unnecessary delays.
Today, Shawn continues to apply his extensive background in land records, GIS, and county governance to support ClearParcel’s mission.
